There are so many things to do in a day. All the things that need to get done, down to that last email, filing that last contract, or leaving that last voicemail.  But looking out a window with a rainy landscape staring back at you, you really lose motivation to do anything at all, and your “to-do” list becomes so much less interesting. But alas, there are still things that need to be done before everyone else leaves for the day.

I don’t know about you, but I am looking forward to getting home and putting on my slippers.  It seems like the only thing worthy of your time is to take a well-deserved nap. But slipping into a little daydream gives me a short break so I can tackle the rest of the day.

Daydreaming is a wonderful thing.  Stretch your imagination about what you are going to do when you get home on a rainy day, or even what your dream home would look like.  Imagine, a grand entrance with a winding stair leading into an open kitchen with left over chicken noodle soup with a sprig of parsley in the fridge and garlic croutons in the pantry, or chocolate chip cookies and fresh milk waiting for you.  Now move to a quiet eating nook with fluffy pillows next to the bay window overlooking the San Francisco skyline shrouded in fog.  That takes the blues away, for me.
